2010 Healing Retreat at the Lodge on Amherst Island
BCAK is again organizing a Healing Retreat at the Lodge on Amherst Island from Friday, August 27 to Sunday, August 29, 2010. Our facilitators Deborah Cauz and Anne Ferguson will return this year. As our brochure indicates, 'through fellowship, interactive exercises, and a peaceful environment all will experience a healing energy one can continue to draw on long after leaving the Retreat. Some comments from those attending last year: (1) the Lodge, being the main area for our sessions, was very helpful for those participants with mobility issues, (2) although attending breast cancer support group meetings, at the Retreat was the first time I really got to know women affected by this desease. There is time and proximity to share, and the generousity of these women was very beneficial to a newly diagnosed woman; the individual experience of having cancer was brought home very strong and was very empowering, (3) the Healing Retreat is a unique and unexpected experience; you take what you want and what you need at the moment. It is a support group at its fullest!
